Myanmar Engineering Council hosts International conference on Engineering Education and Accreditation ICEEA 2023

The Myanmar Engineering Council, host of the WFEO Committee on Education in Engineering (CEIE), hosted the International Conference on Engineering Education and Accreditation (ICEEA 2023), on 27 and 28 July 2023 in virtual format. The theme of the conference was “Accelerating the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development at all levels through engineering education”.

The conference brought together academics from the technological universities in Myanmar, practitioners, and international experts from the engineering education sector. The presentations included analysis, description, and teaching of engineering, as well as implementing ongoing and proposed projects for sustainable development. It was an opportunity to share ideas and best practices.

ICEEA 2023 Plenary Speakers included international and Myanmar leaders in engineering education, engineering professionals and leaders from:
World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO),
International Engineering Alliance (IEA),
Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET),
Engineers Australia (EA),
Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology Inc. (ABET),
Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP),
University of Applied Sciences Jadehochschule in Oldenburg,
Marine Engineering School of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM),
Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM),
Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM),
Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES),
Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and many others.

Speakers included Former WFEO President Dr Marlene Kanga AO, Former WFEO President Prof Gong Ke, WFEO Executive Vice President Mr Seng Chuan Tan and Chair of the IEA Washington Accord, Prof. Elizabeth Taylor.
