In celebration of World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, the Order of Tunisian Engineers Order (TEO) hosted a distinguished Ramadan evening on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Order’s Headquarters in Tunis
The event was organized in collaboration with the Association of Graduates of Grandes Écoles (ATUGE) and the Alumni Association of the National Engineering School of Tunis (ADENIT).
Mokhtar Latiri: Founder of Engineering Education and a Symbol of Nation-Building
The evening, held under the theme “Engineer Mokhtar Latiri: A Journey of Founding and Building” was dedicated to honoring and commemorating the prolific professional career of a man considered one of Tunisia’s foremost engineering pioneers and the founder of the country’s first engineering school
Key presentations highlighted the milestones of his career, praising his significant contributions to the advancement of the engineering sector and his historic efforts in establishing and serving the profession
A Strategic Partnership to Support Engineering Talent
The event also witnessed the signing of a partnership and cooperation agreement between the Order of Tunisian Engineers and ATUGE
This agreement aims to :
- Strengthen mutual cooperation and develop joint initiatives in various areas of common interest.
- Support Tunisian engineers and enhance communication with elite graduates of the Grandes Écoles.
- Exchange expertise and organize joint scientific and professional events.
An Atmosphere of Loyalty and Recognition
The gathering brought together numerous engineers, executives, and national figures in a Ramadan atmosphere that reflected the values of loyalty and recognition for the contributions of engineering pioneers
It further underscored the central role of engineers in the pathways of comprehensive national development.
