Moez Chakchouk is appointed WFEO Executive Director by 2026

The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) is delighted to announce that on September 1, 2025, Moez Chakchouk has joined WFEO Secretariat. After a transition period alongside the current Executive Director, Jacques de Méreuil, Mr. Chakchouk will become our new Executive Director, on January 1, 2026.

Mr. Chakchouk was selected following an extensive and highly competitive recruitment process, which attracted more than 250 applications worldwide and included several dozen interviews. His appointment reflects both the depth of his professional expertise and his vision for the future of engineering in addressing global challenges.

Moez Chakchouk, an engineer by training and holder of a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, has held prominent leadership positions within the Tunisian Government, including Minister of Transport and Logistics, Chairman and CEO of the Tunisian Post, and head of the Tunisian Internet Agency. He also served as Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information at UNESCO (2018-2020), where he contributed in advancing policies on digital transformation, access to information, and innovation for sustainable development.
