WFEO participation at the BRICS Engineering Congress 2025

The BRICS Engineering Congress 2025 took place in Shenzhen, China, on April 24, 2025.

The congress, themed “Converging Engineering Development Forces, Co-creating a Brighter Future for BRICS” featured keynote speeches, technical reports, roundtable discussions, and workshops, providing a platform for shared learning and exchange. The aim was to jointly advance engineering education reform, technological innovation, capacity building, and improved governance among BRICS nations.

Several outcomes were announced during the event, including the Initiative to Launch Federation of Engineering Institutions of BRICS (FEIBRICS) and the CSE’s Continuing Professional Development Resources Open to BRICS Engineering Organizations.

On the sidelines of the congress, Luo Hui and officials from the Department of International Affairs, China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange (CISTE), and CAST Center for Professional Training and Services held working meetings with representatives from the:

The Congress was guided by the Chinese Society of Engineers and jointly organized by the Harbin Institute of Technology, the Guangdong Association for Science and Technology, and the Heilongjiang Association for Science and Technology.

It received support from the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and saw active participation from 33 engineering institutions and 3 international organizations across BRICS countries and 6 partner nations.

Over 200 representatives from the engineering community attended the event.
