
COP30 is the United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place in Belém, Brazil from 10 to 21 November 2025.
COP30 will bring together world leaders and negotiators from the member states (or Parties) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to further global progress, with business leaders, young people, climate scientists, Indigenous Peoples, and civil society sharing insights and best practices to strengthen global, collective and inclusive climate action.
WFEO, in partnership with the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) will present the side event titled Engineering for climate resilience: water planning, energy transition, biodiversity gain, on 18 November, in the Side Event Room 7, at 3:00 – 4:30 PM (BRT) Brazil time / 19:00 – 20:30 PM (CET) Paris time.

The side event will explore critical infrastructure resilience in the face of a changing climate. It will include discussions on public tools for hydrological projections in water-stressed islands; energy transition through electrification, distributed energy resources, and digital access; and regenerative design for nature and community resilience.
