The 12th International Conference on Low Carbon Asia (ICLCA 2026) will be held from October 19 to 22, 2026, in Shanghai, China.
This conference is jointly organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, co-organized by Beijing Normal University and the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and supported by World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO).
As a major annual academic event, the International Conference on Low Carbon Asia is dedicated to establishing a high-level platform for global academia, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and related organizations. It aims to facilitate in-depth discussions on the latest advancements in sustainable development and the transition to net-zero emissions across Asia and beyond, fostering knowledge sharing and cross-sector collaboration.
The inaugural International Conference on Low Carbon Asia was initiated by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and has since been successfully held in various countries and regions, including Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Dalian China. Covering a wide range of research areas such as sustainable energy systems, sustainable agriculture, urban waste and water management, circular economy, green finance, and clean technologies, the conference serves as a dynamic international academic platform. It provides valuable opportunities for advancing green industry innovation and fostering research collaboration on net-zero emissions.
Under the theme “Moving the Needle to 1.5: Science, Technology, Finance, and Policy Integration to Materialise Asia’s Net-Zero Transition” this year’s conference seeks to integrate science, technology, finance, and policy to accelerate Asia’s carbon-neutral transition and contribute insights and solutions toward limiting global warming to 1.5°C. The conference will delve into this core theme through in-depth discussions, sharing innovative practices and exploring viable pathways to collectively advance the construction of a sustainable future.
