The Belt and Road Forum on Engineering Capacity Building will be held in Chengdu, China, from 10 to 12 June 2025.

This event is organized within the Second Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange (BRST). Building on the success of the first conference, the second BRST is themed on “Together for Innovation, Development for All.” It’s co-sponsored by:

As a thematic forum, the Belt and Road Forum on Engineering Capacity Building hosted by CAST will focus on “Pioneering Engineering Innovation and Co-constructing Engineering Capacity” and on important topics like:

  • engineering education,
  • the core competencies of engineers and international recognition,
  • the continuing professional development of engineers, and
  • technological innovation in key areas, including Rail Transit, Carbon-Zero Engineering, and Energy Systems.

The forum will include a keynote session, round-table discussions, high-level dialogues, etc.

It aims to increase openness, trust, and cooperation among the engineering, educational, and business communities under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It will also encourage the establishment of the International Federation of Engineering Societies for the Belt and Road. By sharing
engineering advancements and jointly addressing global engineering challenges, the forum will offer high-quality services to contribute to high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
