Executive Director's Brief - CALL FOR ACTION N°1 - Nov. 2012
The Executive Director's Brief
WFEO President Adel Al Kharafi and Executive Director Tahani Youssef at the World Engineering Forum 2012

After the very successful World Engineering Forum 2012 which took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia last September on the occasion of the WFEO Executive Council meetings, all eyes are now set on our Federation's future actions and results. It is imperative that we bring these actions to light as soon as possible.

The reinforcement of headquarters with the recruitment of a new Communication and Marketing Director, Roxanne Suran, we now have a dynamic "Central Support Team" in Paris with clear objectives and ideas to go forward in the framework of our Strategic and Action Plans. We now and more than ever, need your very active participation in terms of content.

This first Executive Director's Brief that you will be receiving on a regular basis, is a "Call for Content" addressed to all STC's. And a starting tool, to help you communicate with us and inform our members on your major programs, progress reports, actions, cooperation opportunities, suggestions for improvement, and specific achievements around your areas of interest. And, much, much more!

This will allow us to realize one of our priority objectives which is the production of the first E-Newsletter from WFEO, which could see the day this coming December, thanks to your dedicated contributions which we eagerly await by November 20th.

We have produced a set of easy to use tools and procedures, that we hope each STC will adopt and use, allowing us to produce on a regular and ongoing basis the so much needed deliverables that will allow us to attain our goals in a timely manner.

Please make sure you click on your sub-section of this document and include directly into the Excel source your content, and fill-in directly the various sub-sections. Please also include your attachments and/or URL. If you require assistance, please make sure you contact our support team hq-support[at]wfeo.net at your earliest convenience, as we will be working on a very tight schedule to have the E-Newsletters come alive on a set calendar.

Also, I would like to stress the fact that all information is important information for us, whether it is to be included on the E-Newsletters or on the Website. It could also be useful for us for all other possible deliverables produced by our Central Support Team.

The challenge is important and we need your active participation, therefore, I sincerely hope everyone will collaborate with this new support team by working closely with them from now on, in order for us all to meet our engagements and allow us to ensure the regional, national and international exposure that our mission aims at having.

Tahani Youssef
Executive Director, WFEO

About the upcoming Executive Board

The upcoming Executive Board meeting will be held between 9 -14 April 2013 at UNESCO in Paris.

As you know, an Ad Hoc team has been established to provide advice, along the lines of the draft TFGD proposal, to the Executive Board on STC performance and any other STC matters. The Ad Hoc team is chaired by the President-Elect who will work with two other board members: Haro Bedelian and Peter Greenwood. The other members of the team are Dan Clinton, Jorge Spitalnik, Andrew Cleland and the Executive Director.

The Ad Hoc team will help the Board establish processes that will absorb what is already happening and open the way to possible developments.

Your active cooperation with the Ad Hoc Team and the Headquarters' Support Team will be highly appreciated.

STCs Collaboration with the HQ Support Team

As you can see the Executive Director's Brief is a dedicated working tool for each STC to state clear actions and indicate specific timetables used for implementation and delivery of initiatives, programs and projects.

It is essential that we receive on a timely basis, all useful information and content, providing us with ongoing progress reports on activities, updated data and statistics, success stories, case studies, cutting edge engineering technologies news, ongoing links with focal points at international agencies and organizations, etc.

All information is good information! Therefore, please commit to contributing to WFEO's reputation as an international engineering leader, and click on your dedicated sub-section to contribute.

Many Thanks.
