SUMMARY:WFEO & ICSI webinar to celebrate World Engineering Day 2024 - Inspi
ring collective action through communication\, advocacy and best practices
  – the role of engineers
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe WFEO Working Group on Climate Change \, the Internation
al Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) and the WFEO Committee
on Young Engineers / Future Leaders Working Group on Climate Action will h
ost the webinar entitled "Inspiring collective action through communicatio
n\, advocacy and best practices – the role of engineers" in celebration
 of the World Engineering Day on 14th March at 1 PM - 2 PM GMT / 2 PM - 3 P
M CET.\n\nThe registration link is available in this page.\n\nAbstract\nAs
the global community grapples with the escalating impacts of climate chan
ge\, fostering widespread understanding and engagement across all levels o
f stakeholder is vital.\n\nThis event will demonstrate the pivotal role th
at engineers play in addressing climate-related challenges\, and how they
can help to communicate challenges and solutions to key players such as l
 ocal communities\, policymakers\, investors.\n\nDiscussions will emphasize
the importance of tailored communication strategies\, highlighting succes
sful case studies and best practices that effectively resonate with differ
ent audiences. In an era of information overload\, finding methods to conv
ey the urgency of climate action is essential for mobilizing all stakehold
ers across the value chain towards sustainable practices.\n\nMoreover\, sp
eakers at this event will talk to responsibility of engineers in leading c
ommunity education efforts. Functioning as integral members of interdiscip
linary teams\, engineers are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between
technical innovations and community needs.\n\nThere will also be a focus
on advocacy for sustainable and resilient infrastructure that is fit for t
he future\, our communities and the planet\, and how engineers can help to
influence investment and unlock funding\, through education and communica
tion.\n\nThe webinar also will showcase a global project on the collection
\, consolidation and communication of national climate change mitigation e
fforts related to engineering.\n\nFinally\, we will hear about ICSI and WF
EO’s Engineering Change Campaign. The campaign is a powerful communicati
on approach to demonstrate how young engineers\, in particular\, are instr
umental in driving the urgent changes we need - they will determine how en
gineering firms address issues of sustainability and resilience in years t
o come.\n\nThis event serves as a platform for the engineering community t
o share best practices\, advocate for and inspire collective action toward
 s a more sustainable and resilient future.\n\nSpeakers\n\nDavide Stronati\
