 up\n\n\nAbubakar Sani Sambo\, a Professor of Mechanical Engineering (Energ
 y Studies) at Usmanu Danfodiyo University\, Sokoto\, is the President-Elec
 t of The The Nigerian Academy of Science. \nHe is the Chairman of the Nige
 rian Member Committee of the World Energy Council. He has previously serve
 d as Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University\, Bauchi\; Vice-
 Chancellor of Kaduna State University\; Director-General of Energy Commiss
 ion of Nigeria (ECN) and Special Adviser to the President on Energy. \nHe 
 has a First Class Honours B.Eng degree from A.B.U. Zaria and a D.Phil degr
 ee from the University of Sussex (UK) both in Mechanical Engineering. He h
 as written numerous articles on renewable energy\, energy planning and app
 ropriate hashtag#technology. After formally retiring from Usmanu Danfodiyo
  University\, the institution honoured him with the Professor Emeritus app
 ointment in April 2024.\n\n
