DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe first STI in Africa Day will be held on 2 May 2023\, 10
  AM EST / 4 PM CEST\, at the margins of the STI Forum in New York\, with a
  focus on "STI4SDGs: Priority Areas\, Levers and Actionable Steps for Afri
 ca".  \n\nThe first STI in in Africa Day has two main purposes:\n\nTo serv
 e as a vehicle for connecting the global community to cooperate\, network\
 , showcase\, share experiences\, build strategic alliances\, and\, whereve
 r possible\, set in motion concrete actions that advance Africa’s STI4SD
 Gs priorities\;\nTo bring the outcomes of the African Regional Science\, T
 echnology and Innovation Forum to the global STI Forum and vice versa\, wi
 th a view to guiding facilitative actions on both ends.\n\nWFEO Former Pre
 sident\, 2017-2019\, Dr Marlene Kanga AO\, will moderate the Thematic Sess
 ion 2: "STI for High Productivity and Economic diversification in Africa".
