DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Institution of Engineers Rwanda (IER)\, together with W
 FEO\, the Rwanda Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA)\, UNESCO and the Fe
 deration Of African Engineering Organisations will host the Global Enginee
 ring Conference (GECO) from 15 to 18 October 2024\, at the Kigali Conventi
 on Centre\, in Rwanda.\n\nThe Global Engineering Conference (GECO) is the 
 world’s premier global engineering forum\, offering a great platform to 
 facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge\, skills\, innovations\,
  and solutions within the diverse engineering disciplines.\n\nIn the conte
 xt of the outbreak of the Marburg virus in Rwanda\, and after having revie
 wed the situation in liaison with the event’s host\, the Institution of 
 Engineers Rwanda\, the WFEO’s Executive Board has decided to cancel all 
 in-person WFEO internal meetings\, and to convert those to fully virtual m
 eetings. \n\nThe GECO will be held as scheduled in Kigali\, however\, to a
 dapt to all cases\, the Institution of Engineers Rwanda will make it possi
 ble for WFEO speakers who would consider canceling their travel to address
  the conference virtually\, and best efforts will be made to allow for onl
 ine attendance as well.\n\nIn detail\, WFEO Secretariat will provide arran
 gements for online meetings for Board committees and Executive Council mee
 tings. The meetings’ schedule may be rearranged in comparison with the K
 igali original schedule\, in order to accommodate for the time zones diffe
 rences. The Secretariat will revert back on this shortly.\n\nWFEO STCs and
  PICs chairs are kindly requested to find the best suitable arrangements f
 or their committee to meet either during the 14 October week\, or at some 
 other time if more convenient.\n\nWe feel sorry about this unfortunate sit
 uation\, and want to express our gratitude to the Institution of Engineers
  Rwanda for their kind understanding and for quickly adapting.\n&nbsp\;\nF
