SUMMARY:Chair of WFEO-WIE Participation in the STI Forum 2026
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe 11th annual Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science\, Techno
 logy and Innovation for the SDGs (STI Forum) will be held from 6 to 7 May 
 2026 in Conference Room 4 at the UN Headquarters in New York.\n\nAs in pre
 vious years\, the theme of the STI Forum will be closely aligned with that
  of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)\, to 
 be held from Monday\, 6 July\, to Wednesday\, 15 July 2026\, under the aus
 pices of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).\n\nThe STI Forum will h
 ave an exclusive focus on the role and contributions of science\, technolo
 gy and innovation to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
  The 2026 HLPF will hold in-depth reviews of five SDGs:\n\n 	SDG 6. Ensure
  availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all\;
 \n 	SDG 7. Ensure access to affordable\, reliable\, sustainable and modern
  energy for all\;\n 	SDG 9. Build resilient infrastructure\, promote inclu
 sive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation\;\n 	SDG 11. 
 Make cities and human settlements inclusive\, safe\, resilient and sustain
 able\; and\n 	SDG 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitaliz
 e the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.\n\nAccordingly\, the
  theme for the STI Forum 2026 is: “Transformative\, equitable and coordi
 nated science\, technology and innovation for the 2030 Agenda and a sustai
 nable future for all”.\n&nbsp\;\n\n\nOn 7 May\, during the thematic sess
 ion 2: “Powering sustainable development through clean energy technologi
 es for affordable\, reliable\, sustainable and modern energy for all”\, 
 which will be held from 10:00 – 13:00\, Ing. Dr. Enyonam Kpekpena\, Chai
 r of the WFEO Committee on Women in Engineering (WIE)\, will make a statem
 ent on achieving SDG7 (Affordable and clean energy) with a focus on the ge
