Marie-Hélène Therre was made Officer of the Legion of Honor

WFEO wishes to congratulate Marie-Hélène Therre who was made Officer of the Legion of Honor on July 3.

Marie-Hélène Therre has been the founder and Chair of the WFEO Committee on Women in Engineering (WFEO-WIE), created in 2008, after the success of the international colloquium held in Tunis on “Empowering Women in Engineering and Technology”. It was first hosted by the WFEO French National Member Ingénieurs et Scientifiques de France (IESF)

She is Honorary President of the French association Femmes Ingénieurs and was in charge of the international relationships for IESF.

Marie-Hélène Therre works as consultant on HR and organization development, specialist on the factors leading to the Diversity and Innovation in the teams and workgroups.

For the European Commission, she was evaluator of the FP7 projects proposals and member of the expert group “Innovations through Gender” in the Science-in-Society program.

Engineer, she has an extensive professional experience in the CAD and Supercomputing sector, where for over 20 years, she has managed large multicultural teams of customer service’s engineers and has directed international projects. In her last position in Cray Research/Silicon Graphics, she was Customer Service Operations Manager in Europe South.

Ms. Therre is a committed and an active citizen who promotes the place of women in Science, Technology, and Engineering with her professional practices.

She was already made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 2007.
